Essey Design

Essey is a Danish brand known and appreciated worldwide. Among its most famous products are the BIN BIN wastebasket and the Illusion Table, which have received numerous international awards such as the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award, and the IF Product Design Award. Its products are featured at MOMA. Essey is undoubtedly a pioneer in the evolution of contemporary design. In their catalog, we read: “In nature, forms are defined by their function; function constitutes the very essence of our natural world. In the world of design, forms often bear only a slight resemblance to their function, if not entirely different. How many times have we looked at something and wondered what it was, what it was for? The world of design is not always in harmony with the world of nature, and it is this imbalance that must be corrected.” Essey’s founder, John Brauer, believes that function should be representative of natural form, that function should be at the very heart of society.
